All in all, I'm pretty content with everything I've seen so far. SO not anywhere remotely near ready to say goodbye to Shinkenger yet, but looking forward to what next year brings.

I suck at blogging, etc. I keep leaving all my thoughts on yaoi all over chats and twitter and everyone else's LJs and never properly register them at my own blog so I end up having to repeat myself a lot and losing track of who I said what to. So in a conscious effort to fight off blogger's lazyness, I'm going to start summarizing these thoughts into semi-coherent posts and make an effort to actually post them instead of saying "later". Maybe it'll work. Maybe it won't. Watch this space.

In conclusion, the musical part had me facepalming and orz-ing a lot, but the live part was amazing and totally worth sitting (or skimming >>) through an hour of Riders butt-wiggling for. (*_*)/

Kamen Rider Spirits Download Post

» What is Kamen Rider Spirits?

A manga series focusing on the first 10 Riders from the Showa era. The first half picks up where Super-1 left off and continues that universe, showing where those 10 Riders are now. The second half reintroduces ZX in a new alternate version and gives him a whole new story. Wiki here if you want more specifics.


» Why should you read it?

a) if you don't know shit about the Showa Riders and don't intend to watch those series for whatever reason, Spirits is a great cheat sheet. The first half is small focus arcs on each old Rider, explaining the main events in their series. So you get to meet those old faces and learn some of their stories, and see why they're relevant to the current generation of Riders. It's no substitute for watching the series itself, but I get not being able to get past that cheesy 70's feeling or just not having enough time in a lifetime to watch so much stuf or whatever, so at least Spirits offer the opportunity to do a quick catch up on the basics and not be completely clueless when people are fangirling/fanboying the old stuff.

b) if you do know your Showa Riders, reading Spirits is like that one time when you were a kid and suddenly found that one last easter egg hidden in your house everyone had forgotten about in the middle of November. You've resigned yourself to never seeing anything else about those guys ever again, and suddenly you get a "30 years later" freebie and they're still as awesome as ever, kicking ass and taking names like it's 1971 all over again. All of their "current life" stories are pretty touching too. I dare you not to shed a few mantears.

There was versus preview after Shinkenger today wheeeeeeee! A lot of cool stuff happened but it was so fast and took me by surprise so by the time I realized OMG VERSUS PREVIEW it was already over. orz Can't wait for it to be up at the tubes, must watch again. *_*

The only cap I managed to find on the chans so far was ( this one ) which is lololololol so perfect ♥ Look at Genta's ;| face at Hiroto. Look at Miu's "bitch what you staring at" face at Mako. Look at Mako's "uuuuuh ok >>" face at Miu. Look at Hiroto's =_= face at everything. I LOVE IT ALREADY. ♥

eta: also! They left Yasuhisa's hair alone in the color, but the Dragon Ball 'do was totally there and it looked even worse in black than in red, poor bb.
